Description

Background:

Located in the same vicinity as the more popular Bukit Kutu, Gunung Gap-Gus, Gunung Rajah and Bukit Hulu Bakau, this trail is a hidden gem for hikers who want to avoid the crowds. This is an ideal introductory challenge for fit beginnerslooking to push their limits and transition into moderate hiking.

The hike is a short but intense 7 km round trip, which typically takes 4-5 hours to complete. The trail is often described as a “short and sharp challenge” due to its steep, relentless inclines. The journey begins with a brief downhill stretch leading to a river crossing at Sungai Sangloi. Once across, the real test begins with a continuous uphill climb that pushes your endurance to its limit.

The trail itself is raw and untamed, with a dense, lush forest and a significant number of leeches, so proper preparation is key. While the summit may not offer a grand, panoramic view, it features an old trig station and offers glimpses of the Titiwangsa range through the trees. If you want to wander a trail that feels unspoilt and take a dip as a reward, this is it. Bukit Chorocho is a perfect alternative for a solid quad workout and a sense of accomplishment.
