Things to do:
Take a speedboat from Sandakan for about 15 minutes and reach Tanjung Aru Island. There, we are able to see stilt houses while we cruise along river. We will have a chance to walk around the village and have a simple tea break in one of the villagers’ house as part of a eco tourism plan for the area. During the cruise, a chance to spot wild animals like Proboscis Monkeys, Otters and Kingfishers. Wait for sunset while enjoying the peaceful surrounding during the cruise. As it gets darker, we will be able to see the fire flies lighting up the trees around us. The programme will conclude with a dinner, after which you will be tranported back to your respective hotels.

Itinerary
Itinerary:
- In the late afternoon, around 1615hrs, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Sandakan and transfer you to a fisherman village.
- Upon arrival, enjoy a simple tea break and a brief overview of the village and the firefly activities.
- The houses in the village are built on stilts, making it fascinating to stroll around.
- Often, kids engage in playtime during this hour, and you’re welcome to join them in some interesting village games.
- Afterward, we’ll embark on a boat cruise to explore the mangrove forest. As darkness falls, witness the enchanting sight of fireflies lighting up the trees around us. The program concludes with a delightful dinner.
- Following dinner,we’ll transfer you back to your hotel.
