Hanoi is located in the Red River Delta, in the center of North Viet Nam, is the capital of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the center of culture, politics, economy and trade of the whole country. Throughout the thousand years of its eventful history, marked by destruction, wars and natural calamities, Hanoi still preserves many ancient architectural works including the Old Quarter and over 600 pagodas and temples. Famous sites include the One Pillar Pagoda (built in 1049), Thang Long Citadel, Hà Nội Opera House, President Hồ Chí Minh’s Mausoleum and so on. Itinerary
8:00 – 8:30 We will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or meet at Hanoi Opera House, and then start our tour with some famous attractions as below.
Tran Quoc Pagoda is considered as the most ancient pagoda in Thang Long – Ha Noi with its historical progression in 1500 years. It has a harmonious combination between the majesty, hoariness architecture and peaceful landscape of the West Lake. From the period in the Ly and Tran dynasties, it had become the Buddhist center of Thang Long.
Next, we visit the Complex of President Ho Chi Minh (Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and Stilt house), this is place where our great leader lived and worked until the last years of his life. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about Uncle Ho’s simple life. In addition, stop by One Pillar Pagoda to admire one of the 4 symbols of Hanoi. On Mondays and Fridays Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum are closed, we just visit outside the Mausoleum.
The following destination of the tour is Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. This is the most recent yet probably the largest and undoubtedly the most interesting Museums in Ha Noi and Viet Nam. There are both indoors and outdoors section, while the in – housed exhibition is particularly informative, the outdoors display and activities make the museum stand out from the rest. There are a number of houses modeling after the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities, especially those who live in Northern and Central highlands. The Museum closes on Mondays and New Year Holidays – we will visit Ho Chi Minh Museum OR Vietnamese Women Museum instead.
We will have lunch at a local restaurant with traditional dishes that you will never forget.
After lunch break, we will continue our tour. We come to the Literature Temple – Imperial Academy – the first university in Vietnam. Literature lake, Khue Van Pavilion, stele house are valuable highlight objects that you cannot ignore. The tour guide will tell you about of 82 doctor stele stones with names of 1306 people standing until nowadays.
After that, we visit Hoa Lo Prison: a former prison located in Hanoi Vietnam, also called Central House or ironically Hanoi Hilton. It was built when Indochina was an integral part of the French Empire. Partly destroyed in 1990, it is now a museum.
16:00: End of Hanoi City tour, the bus will take you back to the hotel in the Old Quarter or you can book extra option with a cyclo ride around the Old Quarter and Sword Lake at your own expense; or you can experience water puppet show at Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre – performance schedule may change depending on the specific period; hotel drop off is on your own expense in these cases.

We can pick up and drop off at your hotel which is located within Hanoi Old Quarter area. If you stay outside, please come to meeting point at Hanoi Opera House or a specific meeting point given by operator with your most convenience. We will not responsible for your lateness.
If you choose to have Cyclo ride or Water Puppet show, the drop off at hotel is not included.
The Mausoleum Management Board carries out maintenance on Mondays and Fridays, you will visit only outside of Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, stilt house and One Pillar Pagoda.
On Mondays and Lunar New year days, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed, then we will visit Ho Chi Minh OR Vietnamese Women Museum instead.
