Description

Background:

Tucked away near Kuala Kubu Bharu, this trail is not for the faint of heart. Its notoriety stems from a relentless elevation gain that demands both physical endurance and mental fortitude.

The journey begins near Kampung Pertak, quickly immersing you in a dense, lush rainforest. The trail is defined by its persistent uphill gradient, with very few flat sections to offer a break. As you navigate the rugged path, you will encounter traces of the area’s rich mining history all around. Among them are artificial caves, old pipelines, and water collection ponds, offering unique historical landmarks amidst the natural obstacles.

Hikers must traverse a challenging route that includes river crossings and natural obstacles—a true test of strength and determination.

While the peak may not offer the typical grand, panoramic vistas, the sense of accomplishment you gain from conquering it is immense. The hike is less about the view and more about the journey itself. It is a fantastic expedition for those looking to prepare for more technical treks and feel the deep satisfaction of overcoming a truly demanding challenge.

This hike is definitely NOT for beginners. We highly recommend training for at least a few months beforehand.
